Good Day to All,

Well we had a nice visit with the grandchildren in Okotoks. The drive was another thing altogether. Outward was great. Returning was ok to Kamloops where we rested up for the final stretch. We left Kamloops early in dense fog and rain. It only got worse from there. I think I averaged 100 on a 120 Km road. At the summits we had harder rain and some mixed snow. Not enough to accumulate, but enough to keep a nervous foot moving on and off the brakes (just tapping of course). For the first time on the Coq traffic was not flying past me as if I was standing still. Just plain nervous driving all the way home as the lower mainland was heavy rain.

Not much flying in March as the weather didn’t permit it.

I signed on two new shareholders, one an Air Traffic Controller at YVR and the other an Architect. We have had a few enquiries so if you are considering selling, please let me know and I will pass on your name.

XTW is in for her annual. No serious problems for a 50 year old aircraft. HTD had hers completed before I left so we are good now till next winter.

We are still considering the possibility of adding SPOT’s to our aircraft. In speaking to people at the airport, I hear that ELT’s, even the 406’s don’t always work. If the antennae is torn off or the aircraft ends up upside down or in water no ELT will work. I plan to meet with the other Director’s later this month to make a decision to either stick with the current ELT’s, upgrade to 406’s or add SPOT’s to the fleet.

I paid Paul the final payment on the hangar. It is now completely ours. Left us cash poor but asset rich.

The bad news is that the road around runway 07 and the wash station on Ramp 3 are now scheduled for completion in spring 2018. The current priority is to create access to runway 30 which by the way will become 31 and 12 will become 13 from Ramp 3. This you will see take place soon.

We are still experiencing some rough use on the Cessna interiors. I also noticed a large bald spot on the port tire of HTD. Please be careful and keep our aircraft in good condition.

As summer approaches, plan ahead for your flying so we don’t get last minute requests. Penny tries her best to keep the drop box up to date but can’t enter an update with every call.

The Pie ladies are working out of Langley near the museum. Chilliwack is open but under different ownership. Let me know how either is and I will pass on the information.

All the best for the summer flying season.

Penny and Lowell
